DISCLAIMER I am no Fashion Expert but I’m going to say it:

Canada needs a united fashion forefront.

The highlight of a city’s fashion scene is its Fashion Week – New York, Paris, Milan, London and Tokyo would surely agree. The year is 2016 and Canada no longer has a Fashion Week in a majority of its cities (exception: Vancouver going strong) or even a governing fashion body. This is bad news for local talent as a fashion council is essential in nurturing, promoting and disseminating a designer’s work. We all know social media is powerful, but it simply can not do what a fully functioning council can do, take the CFDA for example.

SO WHAT CAN BE DONE?
  • Educate yourself (and others!) on Canada’s fashion industry history
  • Follow RevampCanFashion on IG for frequent updates and historical tidbits
  • Spread awareness and create buzz surrounding issues the Canadian fashion scene is currently facing
  • Ultimately: Revamp the Canadian Fashion Industry with a National Council
